Tuesday Apr 4 @ 05:41pmThese two were supposedly based on a real couple, who said they wouldn’t board a life boat as long as there were younger people still aboard the ship. They both went below deck, presumably to their room, and that’s the last time they were seen.
That’s Isador and Ida Strauss, who died together on the Titanic the night of April 14-15, 1912. He urged his wife to board on a lifeboat but she refused and was witnessed to have said “We have lived together for many years. Where you go, I go.”
